Aitana Bonmatí is arguably the best player in the world. The 27-year-old midfielder, a two-time Ballon d’Or winner (2024, 2025), was recently in Paris with Ousmane Dembélé to receive her prestigious award. However, she shared with Cadena SER that she might not have given the accolade to the French player.
“For me, the top player is Pedri. I believe he is not given enough respect in terms of individual awards. He contributes significantly to his teams. In the midfield of Barcelona or the national team, he is crucial, and you can feel his absence. […] While players like Lamine Yamal or Dembélé deserve recognition, there is a tendency to highlight offensive players, while those without stats often go unnoticed,” she explained.
