Algeria Outclasses Zimbabwe with Convincing Performance

Already qualified for the 2026 World Cup and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Algeria is gearing up for these two competitions. On Thursday, coach Vladimir Petkovic’s team hosted Zimbabwe for a friendly match, which they controlled comfortably against a manageable opponent.

Baghdad Bounedjah opened the scoring in the 14th minute, followed by Mohamed Amoura doubling the lead in the 41st minute. Just before halftime, Jaouen Hadjam added another goal in stoppage time (45+1). In the closing moments of the match, Tawanda Chirewa scored a penalty to reduce the deficit to 3-1 for Algeria.
