Liverpool will end the season without their main goalkeeper.
Bad news has been announced by Arne Slot.
Details: During the pre-match press conference ahead of the FA Cup quarter-final against Manchester City, Liverpool head coach Arne Slot confirmed that goalkeeper Alisson Becker will miss the rest of the season due to injury.
Slot stated that Alisson’s injury is more severe than originally thought:
“He won’t be available for the upcoming matches; he’s out for a longer time. We expect him to return only towards the end of the season.”
Alisson sustained a muscle injury at the end of March. Initially, it was believed he would be back by mid-April, but now it’s clear his season is over, which raises concerns about his place in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
This season, Alisson has played 34 matches for Liverpool, conceding 36 goals and keeping 13 clean sheets.
