Kannur: Goalkeeper Alkesh Raj has joined TV Kannur Warriors. Warriors have signed Alkesh, who was the second goalkeeper for Forza Kochi, the runners-up in last year’s Super League Kerala.

He was the main goalkeeper for the Kerala team that won gold in football at the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand. In the semi-final against Assam, he was instrumental in Kerala’s victory during the penalty shootout, saving two kicks from Assam players. He performed well throughout the National Games.

He also represented Kerala in the 76th Santosh Trophy final round. In 2020, he was part of the team that won the Khelo India University Games in Bhubaneswar. He was also a member of the team that secured second place in the South Zone Inter-University Championship held in Pondicherry in 2018. He is a native of Edathirinji in Thrissur district.
