Liverpool faced another defeat in the English Premier League, losing 3-2 to Brentford at their home ground. This loss came despite Liverpool entering the match with confidence from a big Champions League win. It marks the fourth consecutive league defeat for the team. Brentford took an early lead in the fifth minute when their record signing, Dango Ouattara, scored from a long throw. Continuing to pressure the Liverpool defence with long balls, Brentford added a second goal in the 45th minute. Kevin Schade scored from a pass by Damsgaard during a counter-attack.

However, Liverpool scored a goal back during injury time in the first half. It was Milos Kerkez’s first goal for Liverpool, which gave the team some hope for a comeback. In the second half, Brentford remained the more dangerous side. In the 60th minute, the referee awarded a foul after Van Dijk brought down Ouattara. A subsequent VAR check confirmed the foul was inside the penalty box, resulting in a penalty for Brentford. Igor Thiago calmly converted the penalty, putting Brentford closer to victory. Liverpool then increased their attacks to find an equalizing goal. Mohamed Salah scored in the 89th minute from a pass by Szoboszlai following an error by Brentford, but it was not enough to prevent defeat. With this result, Brentford, under new coach Keith Andrews, has moved up to tenth place, while Liverpool has fallen to sixth position in the league table.
