Unfortunate news for Bayern Munich.
Bayern’s defense issues are worsening.
Details: SkySports reports that Josip Stanišić, a 25-year-old full-back for Bayern Munich, has suffered a medial ligament injury in his right knee.
During the Champions League group stage match against Chelsea, he got injured in the second half while contending for a header. He took a hard hit to the side of his knee but initially felt no severe pain and continued playing. Soon after, however, he fell to the ground and left the match in the 51st minute.
There is currently no official recovery timeline for him. Bayern may face a significant selection challenge, as the injury list already includes Alphonso Davies (torn ACL), Hiroki Ito (metatarsal fracture), and Raphaël Guerreiro (abdominal muscle injury).
Reminder: Another setback for Bayern. Josip Stanišić was unable to continue against Chelsea.
