Argentina wrapped up the South American World Cup qualifiers with a 1-0 loss to Ecuador in Guayaquil but still topped the standings. With 274 days left until the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, the current champions have much of their schedule planned out.
In October, Argentina will head to the United States for two friendly matches. Lionel Scaloni’s team will face Venezuela in Miami and Puerto Rico in Chicago, following their tradition of touring North America.
The last international window of the year is from November 10 to 18. The Albiceleste will play in Luanda, Angola, and Kerala, India, both popular locations expected to attract large crowds eager to see Lionel Messi and the champions.
On December 5, Washington D.C. will host the draw for the 2026 World Cup. Argentina will find out who their group-stage opponents are in the new 48-team format.
Between March 23 and 31, the team will compete in the Finalissima against Spain, the current European champions, with final details still to be confirmed. Another friendly may be scheduled during this FIFA window.
FIFA has set May 25 as the deadline for clubs to release selected players. After this date, Scaloni will have access to his full squad.
In early June, Argentina will play up to two warm-up matches with a nearly finalized 26-man roster. These matches will be the final preparation before June 11, when they begin their effort to defend the title they won in Qatar.
