Argentina’s 2025 Schedule Set! Messi’s US Tour Announced

Argentina, spearheaded by Lionel Messi, is finalizing preparations for the 2026 World Cup. The Argentine Football Association (AFA) recently released their schedule for the remainder of 2025, highlighted by a tour in the United States.

Argentina secured their spot in the 2026 World Cup following a dominant performance in the South American qualifiers. Lionel Scaloni’s team leads the table with 35 points, showcasing their strength against regional rivals. They have two qualifying matches left in September: a home game against Venezuela on September 4th and an away fixture against Ecuador on September 9th.

Following the qualifiers, Argentina’s 2025 schedule, confirmed by the AFA, includes a trip to the United States during the October international window, from October 6th to 14th. Opponents and venues for these two matches are yet to be announced. This tour provides an opportunity for Argentina to further test their squad and maintain cohesion leading up to the World Cup.

In November, Argentina will conclude 2025 with two friendly matches in Africa and Asia. The team will play one game in Luanda, Angola, and another in Kerala, India, from November 10th to 18th. Opponents are yet to be named.

Rumors previously circulated about a potential match between Argentina and Mexico in Chicago during the US tour. However, Ivar Sisniega, President of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF), dismissed these claims. Speaking to the media, Sisniega stated: “The information about Mexico facing Argentina is completely inaccurate. It’s just a rumor, and we have no plans to play against Argentina at that time.” Stay updated on details with Footem.in

Currently, Argentina’s only confirmed opponents for 2025 are Venezuela and Ecuador in the World Cup qualifiers. The remaining friendly matches, including those in the US, Angola, and India, will be finalized soon.

This schedule means Lionel Messi is likely to have at least 5-6 more opportunities to represent his national team in 2025. Given his age and current form, the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico may well be the Argentine captain’s final major tournament.
