Arsenal is looking into playing its home games at Wembley Stadium while it renovates the Emirates Stadium.

Details: As reported by The Sun, the club’s aim is to make its stadium the largest in London, targeting a capacity of over 70,000 seats.

The renovation project includes changing the stands’ angle, rearranging seating, and possibly raising the roof. The club is inspired by Real Madrid’s recent upgrade of the Santiago Bernabéu, which transformed it into a modern, multi-use venue.

The estimated cost for the Emirates renovation is around £500 million. During the construction, Arsenal may play at Wembley, where they were based from 1998 to 2000. This move would help maintain solid matchday revenues—£131.7 million in the 2023/24 season—and may also lessen the waiting list of over 100,000 fans for season tickets.

The management has yet to file an official planning application and needs to gain approval from the relevant authorities.
