Arsenal is likely to sell a key player this summer to support their transfer activities.
The Gunners have invested significantly over the past few seasons and rank second in net spending in the Premier League during the last five years, trailing only Manchester United. This season, they have the highest net spending in the league at approximately £250m.
Although Arsenal is having a successful season, they will need to make some sales to fund major acquisitions in the summer transfer window.
As reported by The Telegraph, at least one first-team player is expected to leave the club, with Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli as potential candidates.
Odegaard has not performed at his best this season, registering only one goal in the Premier League. Several clubs are watching his situation closely, but Arsenal is likely to seek a substantial fee for the Norwegian.
Martinelli’s departure seems more probable and appealing to interested teams. The Brazilian was linked to the Saudi Pro League last summer and has interest from clubs in Spain.
Arsenal is reportedly willing to consider offers around €65m (£56m) for the 24-year-old, who has made just nine starts in the Premier League this season.
Despite his limited play time in the league, Martinelli has stood out in Europe, scoring six goals in only 382 minutes during the Champions League in the 2025-26 season.
