Real Madrid will play Arsenal in the first match of the Champions League at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday (9/4) at the early morning. Coach Carlo Ancelotti has been criticised for his team’s inconsistent performance.
Real Madrid have won six Champions League titles in the last ten years. Madrid fans have recently said they are worried because the European champions are not playing well this season.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t seem worried about this.
“We can’t think about criticism when we have a game every three days,” Ancelotti said on the club’s website.
“What we do is look closely at every game and get ready for the next one.”
“The game against Arsenal is very important, but it is only the first 90 minutes of the game. It doesn’t decide the result because there are 90 minutes left to play at the Santiago Bernabeu next week,” Ancelotti continued.

After doing so well last season, when they won the Champions League and LaLiga with only two defeats, everyone expects Los Blancos to do it again.
But Real Madrid have not been playing well recently. They have lost five La Liga games and several in other competitions, including two heavy defeats to their arch-rivals Barcelona.
Ancelotti is hopeful.
After losing 2-1 to Valencia at home a few days ago, Real are currently second in LaLiga on 63 points. They are four points behind Barca and have eight games left to play.
However, Ancelotti is feeling confident after seeing off Manchester City in the Champions League play-offs and city rivals Atlético Madrid in the last 16.
“If I wasn’t sure we were going to win the title this season, I would have stopped, I would have considered going on holiday,” Ancelotti said.
“We are here to fight for all the titles until the end, whatever happens. If it doesn’t work out, we have to think about next season, but that’s not the case yet.”
“Our experience in the Champions League is very important. That knowledge makes you not afraid of these games, with this kind of pressure.”
