Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has announced that William Saliba is available for the match against Bayer Leverkusen, while Martin Odegaard will not be playing due to an injury.
The Gunners are set to face Leverkusen in the first leg of their round of 16 match in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
Arteta provided updates on several players with injury concerns during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.
Injury Update: Saliba Fit, Odegaard Out
Arteta confirmed that Odegaard will miss the match due to a knee injury sustained against Brentford. He has been sidelined for the last three games and may not return until April, as noted by Norway manager Stale Solbakken.
On a positive note, Saliba has recovered from an ankle injury that kept him out of the previous two matches.
Arteta also mentioned that Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, and Gabriel Magalhaes are fit to play this week after missing the FA Cup victory over Mansfield Town. He had stated that they were dealing with minor issues after that match.
Leandro Trossard and Riccardo Calafiori may also be available after being substituted against Mansfield. “Yes, they are a possibility, and we’ll see how we use them tomorrow,” Arteta said.
