Mikel Arteta responded to criticism from Brighton regarding Arsenal’s style of play, stating that the club focuses on its own performance.
Arsenal secured a 1-0 victory against Brighton on Wednesday night, thanks to Bukayo Saka’s goal. This win was significant for Arsenal as title contenders Manchester City dropped points against Nottingham Forest.
Post-match discussions have highlighted criticism of Arsenal’s alleged time-wasting tactics.
Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler and midfielder Pascal Gross voiced their concerns, with Hurzeler calling for more action from officials to address time-wasting, claiming his team was the only one committed to playing football.

In response to these remarks, Arteta made it clear that his focus is solely on his own team.
“What a surprise. If you look back at previous games, you’ll see similar comments,” he told TNT Sports.
“I believe they admire our players. They bring attention to our players, who seem to be quite popular in the country.
“We take care of ourselves. This was a challenging match considering everything we’ve faced recently.
“Every Premier League match brings unique challenges. A big shoutout to the players for their incredible effort.”
