Mikel Arteta stated that Arsenal is determined to win trophies this season after last weekend’s loss to Manchester United.
The Gunners fell 3-2 to the Red Devils at the Emirates Stadium, despite leading in the first half. This result allowed Manchester City and Aston Villa to reduce the gap at the top of the Premier League table to four points.
Speaking before Wednesday’s match against Kairat Almaty in the UEFA Champions League, Arteta said his team’s response to their first home defeat this season has been “excellent.” He reminded fans that they are still competing for titles in four different tournaments.
Mikel Arteta addresses Arsenal supporters after Man Utd defeat
“We took a moment to calm down, reflect, and ask ourselves some questions,” he shared at the pre-match press conference.
“How do we feel? How do I feel? And how do we want to approach the next four months?
“What came out of that discussion was very clear. We deserve to be in a strong position across four competitions, and in the next four months, we will play with enjoyment, courage, and a belief that we can win.”
“This is the mindset we are adopting and where we will focus our energy.”
“I hope everyone connected to the club, especially the supporters, joins us on this journey for the next four months.”
