The draw for the Asian Cup Women’s Football Qualifying Tournament has been released. The Indian team has been placed in Group ‘B’. The draw was held in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on Thursday. Thailand will host the Group ‘B’ matches in the Asian Cup Qualifying Tournament from June 23 to July 5. Along with India, Thailand, Mongolia, Timor-Leste and Iraq are in Group ‘B’.
The group winners will qualify for the main tournament of the Asia Cup to be held in Australia next year. A total of 34 teams have been divided into eight groups. Group ‘A’… Group ‘B’ have five teams each. The remaining six groups are made up of four teams.
The winners of all eight groups will qualify for the main tournament of the Asian Cup. Along with hosts Australia, the top three teams in the 2022 Asian Cup – China, Korea and Japan – have already qualified directly for the 2026 Asian Cup.
