Universidad de Chile secured the Super Cup with a strong 3-0 win over Colo Colo, as reported by TNT Sports. Lucas Assadi was a key player, scoring the third goal and driving much of the team’s attack. Despite the victory, he advised his teammates to remain grounded, noting that more challenges lie ahead.
After waiting for a chance in the starting lineup, Assadi is now making his mark. He stated that Universidad de Chile was already performing well before Colo Colo received a controversial red card. “We were already in control and playing better before the sending off. The red card helped us, but we were already dominating,” he explained. He also recognized Colo Colo’s achievements, acknowledging their status as champions.
Assadi emphasized the importance of not celebrating too soon, with the team set to travel to Lima for the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana quarterfinals against Alianza. “We have to stay focused; it will be a tough match in Peru,” he warned.
He credited the support from coach Gustavo Álvarez and the team’s unity for his current success. With the Super Cup victory boosting their confidence, Universidad de Chile is now preparing for their upcoming continental matches.
