Aston Villa Looks to Discuss Harvey Elliott’s Release Clause

Aston Villa is looking to negotiate a get-out clause to return Harvey Elliott to Liverpool.

Elliott joined Aston Villa on loan from Liverpool in the summer, with an obligation to buy him for around £35m based on his appearances.

However, he has not become part of Unai Emery’s plans, accumulating only 97 minutes in three Premier League matches.

Villa wants to end the loan but would face a penalty if Elliott is sent back to Liverpool. There is currently no option for either club to recall him.

As reported by The Athletic, Villa wishes to talk with Liverpool, having determined that Elliott is not part of their future plans. Talks will take place to reach an agreement between the two clubs.

Elliott had a promising start to the season, having played a key role in England’s victory at the U-21 European Championship, where he was named Player of the Tournament and finished as runner-up for the Golden Boot.

His move to Villa has not gone as expected, and discussions will continue to resolve his situation. Several Premier League teams, including his former club Fulham and West Ham, were interested in Elliott before his loan to Villa Park.
