When they met Atlético, Sevilla took an early lead after just seven minutes. Lucien Agoume fired off a powerful shot from outside the penalty area that was too powerful for Jan Oblak to stop, making it 1-0 to Sevilla.

Atletico tried to fight back and get an equaliser. In the 17th minute, Nahuel Molina had a chance, but his shot went wide.

In the 22nd minute, Atlético were awarded a penalty. The referee pointed to the spot after Conor Gallagher was brought down by Logic Bade.
