The match between Gimnasia and Atlético Tucumán at the Juan Carmelo Zerillo stadium faced unexpected lighting problems. According to Olé, the game was interrupted by a sudden light flicker followed by a blackout, just as Atlético was putting pressure on Gimnasia. This led Atlético’s manager, Lucas Pusineri, to wonder if the outage was accidental.

Play was halted first due to the flickering lights and then because of the near-total darkness that settled over the venue. Referee Pablo Dóvalo initially suggested suspending the match, which prompted Pusineri to voice his concerns, saying, “My team had three chances and then the lights went out. This trick with the lights is an old one.”

While Dóvalo first announced the game was over, he later decided to wait for the lights to come back on. During this delay, Pusineri expressed his belief that the blackout was deliberate. After several failed attempts to restore power, the final 17 minutes were played with one stand remaining dark, forcing players to compete in poor visibility.

The unusual conclusion left many questions, with Atlético Tucumán’s coach openly expressing his suspicions. The match ended under such circumstances, ensuring that the controversy would continue to be discussed long after the final whistle.
