Austin FC has signed free agent defender Jon Bell, the club announced on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old has a contract that runs until June 2028, with an option for the 2028-29 season.
In his MLS career, Bell has recorded three goals and two assists in 61 matches, with 39 of those being starts. He has played for the Seattle Sounders, St. Louis City FC, and the New England Revolution.
Austin’s sporting director Rodolfo Borrell stated, “Jon is a versatile defender with MLS experience, able to play in various positions on the backline. He is a valuable addition to our defense, and we welcome him to Austin.”
During his time with New England, Bell won the Supporters’ Shield in 2021 and was part of the Sounders team that lifted the Leagues Cup last year.
Bell, who hails from Rockville, Maryland, has represented Jamaica at the international level, making two appearances thus far.
