Barcelona 4-1 Girona: Lewandowski Scores Twice, Blaugrana Run Riot

The Spanish League (La Liga) match between Barcelona vs. Girona ended with a score of 4-1 on Sunday (30/03/2025) evening IST.

In this Catalan derby match. Barcelona player Robert Lewandowski performed brilliantly by scoring two goals in the second half. The result saw Hansi Flick’s side move three points clear at the top of LaLiga.

In the first half, Barcelona took the lead two minutes before the break when Lamine Yamal’s free-kick hit Girona defender Ladislav Krejci for an own goal. However, Girona hit back early in the second half when Arnaut Danjuma equalised.

Despite the goal, Barcelona remained calm. Robert Lewandowski put the Blaugrana back in front with an acrobatic finish in the 61st minute. The Polish striker then made it 3-1 on the counterattack, scoring his 25th goal of the season and cementing his status as LaLiga’s top scorer.

In the dying minutes of the Barcelona-Girona game, Ferran Torres underlined the home side’s dominance with a fourth goal to seal a 4-1 victory. The result avenged a 4-2 defeat to Girona in the previous season.

The Blaugrana, as Barcelona are known, are looking increasingly confident in their quest for the LaLiga title this season as they continue to put in impressive performances in every game.

The result between Barcelona and Girona means that El Barca now have 66 points from 29 games, three ahead of Real Madrid in second place. Girona, meanwhile, remain 13th in the LaLiga table.
