La Liga has announced that the match between Barcelona and Villarreal will take place at Estadio El Madrigal instead of in Miami. This news has prompted a response from one of the teams involved.

Details: Barcelona issued an official statement on social media, confirming their acceptance of La Liga’s decision while expressing disappointment about losing the chance to play in the United States, which would have helped promote the league globally.

Quote: “FC Barcelona respects and accepts the decision to cancel the match against Villarreal in Miami, which corresponds to Matchday 17 of La Liga, just as the Club had previously respected and accepted the decision to play the game in the United States.

FC Barcelona regrets the lost opportunity to enhance the competition’s profile in a strategic market with significant potential for growth and generating revenue for all involved.

The Club appreciates the ongoing support from our fans in the United States and regrets that they will miss the opportunity to see an official match in their own country,” the club’s statement read.

Reminder: Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal criticized Tebas for the decision to relocate the Barcelona match to the United States.
