Recovery timeline remains unknown.
Barcelona may have challenges in midfield for upcoming matches.
Details: The official Barcelona page on social media platform X has announced an update on the injury of 28-year-old Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
The report indicates that de Jong has sustained a minor injury to the external obturator muscle in his right leg, making it uncertain if he will play against Valencia next week.
Journalist Pintanel mentioned on X that while the injury isn’t serious, de Jong will still likely miss the match against Valencia.
Frenkie de Jong was substituted in the 83rd minute during the game against Poland and returned to Barcelona for medical tests, leaving the Netherlands squad early.
Last season, de Jong was a vital player for Barcelona, making 46 appearances and contributing 2 goals and 2 assists.
Reminder: Barcelona could be without De Jong. The Dutch midfielder leaves national team camp due to injury.
