Barcelona have informed Marcus Rashford that they want to extend his contract beyond this season.
Rashford joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United last summer. The winger has had a successful time in Spain, scoring six goals and providing eight assists in all competitions.
The Spanish champions are pleased with his contributions and have told Rashford’s representatives that they wish to keep him after this season. Barcelona has a €30m option to sign Rashford permanently.
Fabrizio Romano reports that there is no guarantee Barcelona will activate that option, as it depends on the club’s finances and Rashford’s salary expectations. However, the club is happy with his performances.
Rashford is reportedly content in Spain, although it is unclear if he plans to return to Manchester United.
Meanwhile, United is looking for a new head coach after the dismissal of Ruben Amorim on Monday.
