Barcelona travels to Estadio Pedro Escartín to face third-tier team CD Guadalajara in the Copa del Rey Round of 32 on Tuesday, as they start their defense of last season’s trophy.

Barcelona is in great form, having won five consecutive matches across all competitions.

In La Liga, they recorded notable wins against Alavés (3-1), Atlético Madrid (3-1), Real Betis (5-3), and Osasuna (2-0). They also secured a 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League. This strong performance has put them at the top of La Liga, four points ahead of their closest rivals.

Head coach Hansi Flick plans to rotate his squad for this match. Starting goalkeeper Joan García will rest ahead of important upcoming games, with either Marc-André ter Stegen or Wojciech Szczesny likely to start.

Dani Olmo is facing the biggest injury challenge, having dislocated his shoulder while scoring in a match against Atlético Madrid on December 2. He is expected to be out for about a month, missing the rest of the 2025 fixtures.

Defender Ronald Araújo is also unavailable, as he has been granted indefinite leave for personal recovery, a decision confirmed by sporting director Deco.
