It came at a price.

Erik ten Hag’s time as Bayer Leverkusen’s head coach was short-lived, but it was costly for the club.

Details: As reported by Bild, there was a unique compensation clause in his contract that was activated when Ten Hag was let go. This meant he received a total of six million euros, which included five million for compensation and one million for salary.

Ten Hag’s tenure lasted exactly 60 days, making the daily cost for Leverkusen around 100,000 euros.

Reminder: He was officially dismissed on September 1. During his time in charge, Bayer won against Grossaspach in the German Cup (4-0), lost to Hoffenheim (1-2), and drew with Werder Bremen (3-3) in their first competitive matches.
