This summer, Benfica acquired midfielder Richard Ríos from Palmeiras for €27 million. However, there have been complications with the payment.
Details: Benfica is facing scrutiny regarding the payment for Ríos’s transfer. Reports indicate that the club was supposed to make a €4.5 million payment to Palmeiras by September 15, but this was delayed due to a banking error.
Club officials in Lisbon stated that the payment deadline has not been missed, as the final date is actually September 22. They assured that they are in regular contact with Palmeiras and explained that the payment delay was due to technical issues beyond their control.
According to the transfer agreement, the total fee for Ríos is €27 million, to be paid in three installments. The first payment has already been completed, and Benfica confirmed that the remaining payments will be made as scheduled.
Recall: Fenerbahçe management is unhappy about Mourinho’s recent move to Benfica.
