Borussia Dortmund end losing streak with 3-1 win over Mainz

Borussia Dortmund stopped the negative trend after defeating Mainz with a score of 3-1 in the 27th week of the German League at the Signal Iduna Park Stadium, Dortmund, Monday early morning IST.

This victory stopped Borussia Dortmund’s negative trend after losing their last two matches in the German League, according to Bundesliga records.

Goals from Maximilian Beier (2) and Emre Can gave Dortmund the win, while Paul Nebel scored for Mainz.

The win lifted Borussia to 10th place in the table with 38 points from 27 games, while Mainz remain in fourth place on 45 points.

In statistical terms, Borussia created more chances with 18 shots, seven of which were on target, while Mainz had the better of the possession with 56 per cent.

Meanwhile, Union Berlin also won their 27th Bundesliga match of the season, defeating SC Freiburg 2-1 at the Europa-Park Stadium in Freiburg on Sunday evening.

Goals from Rani Khedira and Andrej Ilic gave Union Berlin the win, while Freiburg had taken the lead through Lucas Holer.

The win lifted Union Berlin to 13th in the Bundesliga table with 30 points from 27 games, eight points above the relegation zone.

Freiburg, on the other hand, remained seventh in the table with 42 points from 27 games, three points off the top four.

Statistically, Union Berlin created more chances with 10 shots, six of which were on target, while Freiburg had the better possession with 73 per cent.
