Borussia Dortmund hosts Inter Milan in a key match for the UEFA Champions League group stage, with both teams aiming for a spot in the knockout rounds.

Niko Kovac’s men recently achieved a solid 3-0 win against Union Berlin.

Emre Can scored a penalty in the 10th minute after Frederik Ronnow fouled Guirassy. Nico Schlotterbeck added a header in the 53rd minute, and Maximilian Beier capped off the match with a goal in the 84th minute.

This victory marks Dortmund’s third consecutive league win, but they are still eight points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich. In their last European match, they faced a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur and currently sit 16th in their group with 11 points from seven matches.

Borussia Dortmund team news

Dortmund will be without Marcel Sabitzer due to a calf issue, and defender Niklas Süle is also out, as stated by coach Niko Kovac. Furthermore, wing-back Daniel Svensson is suspended after receiving a red card against Tottenham, reducing their options.

Kovac remains positive, stating, “If we combine our talent with physical strength over 90 minutes, we can compete at a high level.” Additionally, Aaron Anselmino has returned to Chelsea following a brief loan stint.

Serhou Guirassy leads the attack after the win over Union Berlin, despite missing a clear chance but contributing significantly to Dortmund’s performance. He has scored three goals in this season’s UCL, down from 13 last season, but is eager to regain his scoring form.
