Botafogo will not have forward Artur for their rescheduled Brasileirão match against Mirassol, according to the team’s medical report. The 27-year-old is out due to a right calf injury and will miss Wednesday’s game at Estádio Nilton Santos, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Brasília time.

Artur has been a consistent player this season, featuring in 36 matches, scoring five goals and providing five assists. His injury occurred during the Copa do Brasil quarterfinal against Vasco, where he came on as a substitute but had to leave after just 12 minutes due to calf pain. Since then, he has been receiving intensive treatment from the medical staff.

There is a possibility he could return for Sunday’s match against Atlético Mineiro, also at home, depending on his training progress later this week. Meanwhile, his absence limits coach Davide Ancelotti’s attacking options.

Botafogo currently sits sixth in the league with 35 points but is reevaluating its goals after being knocked out of both the Copa do Brasil and Copa Libertadores. Gaining a spot in next year’s continental competitions is now the club’s main focus.

The team is also dealing with the long-term absence of Neto, who sustained a serious thigh injury and required surgery. This situation, along with Artur’s injury, has led to tactical adjustments and the exploration of new attacking strategies.

The decision on Artur’s potential return for the match against Atlético Mineiro will be made by the technical staff and medical team, based on his training workload and recovery progress.
