Endrick on early success and learning from legends
Endrick has faced challenges in getting playing time under manager Xabi Alonso this season, prompting a six-month loan to Lyon for more regular matches and to continue his growth ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
“I arrived just after turning 18 and scored on my debut in every tournament. A lot has happened faster than expected,” Endrick stated, reflecting on his first year at the Bernabeu.
“I know people wanted to see me play more, but I understand that it won’t always happen so quickly,” he continued.
He mentioned that he discussed many aspects with Xabi Alonso, saying, “He has won many titles and has a lot to teach.”
Endrick expressed his desire to learn from mentors like Alonso, stating, “I want guidance from people like him. I also aim to be a world champion with my national team, like he was with Spain.”
His remarks show gratitude to his coaches and an awareness that developing at a major club like Real takes time.
Despite having high hopes, Endrick has faced injuries and limited chances under a new manager, making the loan to Lyon a tactical choice instead of a sign of dissatisfaction.
Advice from Carlo Ancelotti and Xabi Alonso on loan move
Endrick shared the advice he received about his loan, saying, “Ancelotti and Xabi both told me to seek playing time after my injury.”
“They are champions with impressive careers. They’ve seen it all: wins, losses, injuries, and titles. You should take their advice seriously,” he added.
“Leaving the biggest club in the world is tough for anyone, but I’m not really leaving. It’s just a break,” he emphasized, clarifying that the move to Lyon is a temporary measure for his development.
Endrick’s comments reflect a thoughtful approach to his career, recognizing that setbacks and strategic choices are part of professional growth.
With Lyon offering more game time, he aims to improve his skills and prove himself ready for a return to Real Madrid and future success with Brazil internationally.
