Brest Confirms Stadium Project Even After Administrative Court Suspension

Following the suspension of the decree allowing the construction of the new Arkéa Park stadium in Brest, the local club and project supporters are pushing back. In a statement, Stade Brestois affirmed that “the administrative court’s decision does not undermine the quality of the project” or the plans to minimize its environmental impact. Denis Le Saint, president of the Ti Zefs, emphasized that the court only requests more precise information and confirmed that the club is committed to advancing the Arkéa Park project, which is crucial for the development of the only professional club in the department.

The Finistère prefecture, Brest Métropole, and the municipality of Guipavas reiterated their support, clarifying that the project timeline remains unaffected and that the building permit process is ongoing. Despite opposition from three environmental groups and the temporary suspension ordered by the court, Stade Brestois and local authorities stressed the significant public interest in this 15,000-seat stadium, expected to be completed by 2028.
