Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo Lead Manchester United’s Pre-Season Tour of Asia

Manchester United has confirmed that its star players will tour Asia. Despite a tiring season, the Red Devils and their players are set to travel to Asia to play two pre-season matches.

Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo are among those set to travel with the team. If Manchester United are to make a big profit from their trip, they will need to include their star names.

The club has previously confirmed a two-game tour of Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong in January, which will see the team travel almost 7,000 miles after their final-day victory over Aston Villa.

Rúben Amorim’s team are set to tour Malaysia for the first time since their last visit 16 years ago. During that visit, the Red Devils played at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, winning 3–2 and 2–0 against a Malaysia XI in July 2009.

This time, Manchester United will play the ASEAN All-Stars at the same venue, the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, on 28 May. Following their Malaysian fixture, Manchester United will play against the Hong Kong national team on 30 May.

The trip to Asia is reported to cost GBP 8 million. Some Manchester United players will then have to play another match, but this will not affect their involvement.

Despite their players’ busy workloads, Manchester United’s sponsors want to see big names on the pitch. Players such as Bruno Fernandes will feature for Portugal in the coming weeks, following their tour of Asia.

Among the travelling party is Alejandro Garnacho, who has been linked with an exit. He started on the bench in the Europa League final and was an unused substitute again against Aston Villa, and the Argentinian has been linked with Chelsea and Napoli.

Several academy graduates have also been included to gain vital experience, with Amorim bringing in midfielders Tyler Fletcher, Jack Moorhouse and Jim Thwaites, as well as defenders Dan Armer and Godwill Kukonki.

Then, after the win over Villa, three players were confirmed out of the team: Victor Lindelöf and Christian Eriksen were left out of Manchester United’s squad for the trip to Asia due to personal reasons. However, veteran defender Jonny Evans was included.

Here is the List of 32 Manchester United Players Against ASEAN All-Stars and Hong Kong National Team
