CAF Awards : Pape Thiaw among the nominees for African Coach of the Year
The Senegalese coach has been nominated for the best coach of the year title by the Confederation of African Football. This recognition highlights the achievements of the former Senegalese international in leading the team.
Pape Thiaw has successfully guided Senegal to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and for the World Cup, marking the country’s third consecutive qualification. He remains unbeaten since taking charge, celebrating his first year with the national team after succeeding Aliou Cissé, and is now in the running for Best African Coach of the Year.
The list of nominated coaches also includes Romuald Rakotondrabe from Madagascar, who was a finalist at CHAN; Hossam Hassan from Egypt; and Bubista from Cape Verde, who achieved historic World Cup qualification for his nation. From the ten nominees, three will be chosen for the final round before the CAF Awards ceremony.
