However, Kannur equalized in the 38th minute through a goal from Eciyar Gomez, assisted by Adrian Sardinero, leveling the score at 1-1. Just before halftime, Asif received a second yellow card for a handball and was sent off, reducing Calicut to ten players.
In the second half, 10-man Calicut made a defensive substitution. In the 55th minute, Calicut’s Jonathan Pereira received a yellow card. Both teams made changes, with Kannur bringing on Sinan, Arshad, and Karim Samb, while Calicut introduced Ashique. In the 76th minute, Calicut’s Federico Hernan Bozo nearly scored, but his shot hit the crossbar. The match was attended by 16,089 spectators.
The next match of the fourth round will be held on October 31, with Forza Kochi FC facing Thrissur Magic FC. The kickoff is at 7:30 PM at Maharajas College Stadium.
