Defending champions Calicut FC began Super League Kerala Season 2 with a victory. In the opening match held in Kozhikode, Calicut FC defeated Forza Kochi with a final score of 2-1. Calicut took the lead in the first half from a penalty.
In the 15th minute of the match, Rincon successfully converted the penalty to give his team the lead. After this goal, Calicut FC focused on their defense. Forza Kochi was seen on the attack for most of the game but couldn’t find the back of the net.
Finally, in the 87th minute, a header from Brazilian player Douglas gave Forza Kochi the equalizer. The goal came from a pass by Sangeeth, making the score 1-1.
Following this, Calicut FC shifted their focus back to the attack. In the 93rd minute, Arun Kumar scored the winning goal for Calicut from a pass by Prashant.
