On Friday, Canal+ secured broadcasting rights for UEFA competitions, ensuring it retains the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League in France until 2031. This is a significant relief for the group led by Maxime Saada.
However, its Qatari partner, Bein Sports, may consider withdrawing from broadcasting Ligue 1 matches. According to L’Équipe, discussions are underway to form a partnership between Canal+ and Bein Sports. This alliance would allow Canal+ to maintain a foothold in European football while accommodating Bein Sports’ intention to temporarily step back from the French Championship. Bein Sports currently broadcasts one Ligue 1 match each matchday, specifically on Sundays at 5 PM.
