According to Fabrizio Romano, Ancelotti is expected to begin working with Brazil during the first week of June. “It’s always been a key condition for Brazil: sign before the FIFA Club World Cup, not an option to wait until July,” Romano reported on his X account.

Meanwhile, The Athletic reports that Ancelotti’s contract with Brazil would initially run until the end of the 2026 World Cup. He is still under contract with Real Madrid until 2026, having signed an extension in December 2023. However, per the outlet, Ancelotti has already informed members of the dressing room of his intention to depart.

The move would follow a difficult season for Ancelotti at Madrid. Los Blancos fell short in the Champions League, exiting before the semifinals, and lost both the Supercopa and Copa del Rey finals to their rivals Barcelona. While they are still in the fight for La Liga, so far, it marks one of Ancelotti’s most dissapointing campaigns with the club.

Their next matches are against Ecuador on June 4, away from home, and Paraguay on June 9, in Brazil. With Argentina already qualified, Brazil, sitting on 21 points, are in a close race, just two points behind second-place Ecuador and level with Uruguay, Paraguay and Colombia.
