According to Sportbladet, Nygren, a 24-year-old Sweden international who joined Celtic in summer 2025, is on United’s radar.
He moved from FC Nordjalland and signed a five-year deal, making it difficult to bring him to England, but United’s interest might attract him.
Nygren’s versatility is impressive. This season, he has played in central midfield, on the wings, as a centre-forward, and as Celtic’s No.10.
He has contributed to 26 goals (19 goals and seven assists) in 48 matches, suggesting he could be ready for a move soon.
Nygren discussed his best season ever with Celtic, stating, “It’s been a really good season for me personally. I feel like I’ve got exactly the role I wanted at Celtic.”
Regarding the interest from big clubs like Manchester United, he said, “It’s fun and a sign that you’ve done something good. I’m always humble and working hard to get better, and I really enjoy my time at Celtic.”
“But like every footballer, I dream of reaching the highest levels and playing in the biggest leagues.”
