Celtic faces Aberdeen at Celtic Park in their upcoming Scottish Premiership match on Sunday.
The Scottish champions are aiming to regain some confidence after a tough start under new manager Wilfried Nancy.
Wilfried Nancy is still seeking his first win as Celtic’s manager. Injuries continue to plague the team, with Kelechi Iheanacho suffering a hamstring injury in the recent League Cup final.
Alistair Johnston and Callum Osmand have both had hamstring surgeries and will be out for a while, while Marcelo Saracchi is also dealing with a hamstring problem.
Cameron Carter-Vickers remains unavailable due to an Achilles injury, as does Jota. Despite the injury setbacks, Nancy maintains that his tactical approach is the best for the team.
Additionally, Sebastian Tounekti and Michel-Ange Balikwisha are both on international duty for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin is looking for a better outcome after his team’s 3-0 loss to Sparta Prague in their recent European match. Gavin Molloy and Kristers Tobers are both out with knee injuries and are not expected to return until January.
Celtic is currently in second place in the Scottish Premiership with 32 points from 16 games, trailing league leaders Hearts by nine points.
Since taking charge at the end of November, Nancy has lost all four of his matches, including a 2-1 loss to Hearts, a 3-0 defeat to Roma in the Europa League, a surprising 3-1 loss to St Mirren in the Scottish League Cup final, and most recently, a 1-2 defeat to Dundee United.
Aberdeen is in sixth place with 24 points from 16 games. After a slow start under Thelin, the team has gone seven Scottish Premiership matches unbeaten before their recent exit in European competition.
They showed competitive spirit against Strasbourg but were unable to convert their chances.
Celtic: Schmeichel; Ralston, Trusty, Scales; Nygren, McGregor, Engels, Tierney; Forrest, Kenny, Maeda
Aberdeen: Mitov; Devlin, Milne, Knoester; Lobban, Aouchiche, Palaversa, Shinnie; Clarkson, Karlsson; Lazetic
The match will be available on Sky Sports Scotland and can be streamed via the Sky Sports app.
