Celtic will play against Livingston in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday, aiming to continue their positive momentum after their first win under new head coach Wilfried Nancy.
This victory has improved the atmosphere at the club following a tough start for the French manager.
Nancy began his career at Celtic with four losses in his first four matches. However, the team’s 3-1 win over Aberdeen, who played with ten men, came as a much-needed boost. Benjamin Nygren scored first at the 39-minute mark, followed by late goals from Kieran Tierney and James Forrest to secure the win.
Celtic heads to West Lothian with several players unavailable. Jota is out due to a knee injury, and Alistair Johnston, Callum Osmand, and Kelechi Iheanacho are sidelined with hamstring injuries and will not play against Livingston. Cameron Carter-Vickers is also out as he continues to recover from a serious Achilles injury sustained in October 2022 and isn’t expected to return until April 2026.
Additionally, Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Sebastian Tounekti are unavailable due to their international commitments at the Africa Cup of Nations. Marcelo Saracchi is also missing but is nearing full fitness. Despite these challenges, Celtic is gaining momentum under Nancy, and the win against Aberdeen has relieved some pressure and provided hope for the future.
