Chelsea and Liverpool are looking to sign Nottingham Forest centre-back Murillo this summer.
Both Premier League clubs are actively exploring a deal for the defender, who may be valued at over £50m.
Chelsea see Murillo as a strong addition to their team due to his talent, Premier League experience, and left-footed play. The team has missed Levi Colwill for a significant part of the season, creating a need for balance in their lineup.
Liverpool is also seeking new centre-backs, despite having secured an agreement to bring in Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes. With Ibrahima Konate’s contract ending this summer and Virgil van Dijk soon turning 35, the need for new defenders is pressing. Joe Gomez has also drawn attention in recent transfer windows.
Reports from TEAMtalk state that interest in Murillo is already ‘strong and serious’. Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester United have been watching his performance closely, but Chelsea and Liverpool appear to be the front-runners at this point.
Nottingham Forest knows that Murillo wants to play in the Champions League but is likely to ask for more than £50m for the Brazilian.
The 23-year-old renewed his contract last January, which has given Forest a better position in negotiations, though relegation could affect their situation. Currently, Forest is in 17th place in the Premier League, just three points above the relegation zone.
