Chelsea secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest, thanks to goals from Joshua Acheampong, Pedro Neto, and Reece James. The team established their control over the match primarily in the second half.
The first half was an evenly contested affair. Nottingham Forest created more threatening chances early in the game. Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson came close to scoring for the home side, while Chelsea struggled to find their momentum. A great opportunity for Chelsea went to waste when Santos failed to convert a through ball from Pedro Neto, sending his shot wide.
With strong defensive play from both sides, the teams went into the halftime break with the score at 0-0.
The deadlock was broken soon after the second half began. In the 49th minute, Acheampong headed in a precise cross from Pedro Neto to give Chelsea the lead. Just three minutes later, Neto doubled the advantage. His free-kick in the 52nd minute was pushed by Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels but still found its way into the net. These two quick goals shifted the game firmly in Chelsea’s favour.
In the 84th minute, Reece James made it 3-0. He scored with a close-range volley after Sels was unable to deal with a corner kick properly. Chelsea was later reduced to ten men after Malo Gusto received a second yellow card for a rough tackle, but by then, the result was already secured.
This win helps Chelsea climb to fourth place in the Premier League standings.
