Chelsea continues to explore options to enhance their attack, following the recent acquisition of Emanuel Emegha from Strasbourg.

One player of interest is Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Jorgen Strand Larsen, who is reportedly on the market and could meet Chelsea’s needs.

Journalist Simon Phillips mentioned that Chelsea began monitoring the 25-year-old after Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury at the end of the last transfer window, and he has provided an update regarding this potential move.

On Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, Phillips revealed that the Club World Cup champions have lowered their interest in Strand Larsen.

He added that although Chelsea revisited Strand Larsen this season, their impression has not been as strong this time.

Currently, it appears that Delap, Joao Pedro, and Marc Guiu remain Chelsea’s primary attacking options.

Emegha is anticipated to join the team next summer, which will provide additional options in the forward position. However, it’s uncertain if Liam Rosenior will consider this enough quality.

If Chelsea aims to hire another forward, sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley will likely need to offload a few players first.

Jorgen Strand Larsen’s performance this season

This season has been challenging for both Strand Larsen and Wolves, who sit at the bottom of the table with just six points from their first 20 matches.

The Norwegian forward has struggled, with only one goal in 18 appearances. In the previous season, he scored 14 goals in 35 matches, a mark that seems unattainable for him this year.

Nonetheless, scoring 14 goals for a struggling Wolves team was a notable achievement. For context, Nicolas Jackson finished last season with 10 league goals.

Despite this, it seems Chelsea remains hesitant about adding another striker before the next season begins.
