A serious investigation.

Chelsea‘s high spending in the transfer market has always drawn criticism, but now it has led to a legal inquiry as the English Football Association (FA) begins its own investigation.

Details: The FA has charged Chelsea with breaching multiple regulations, specifically Rules J1 and C2 of the Agents Regulations, Rules A2 and A3 of the Intermediaries Regulations, as well as Rules A1 and B3 concerning third-party investments in players.

The complaints date back from 2009 to 2022, with the investigation mainly looking into the period from 2011 to 2016. Chelsea faces 74 distinct charges and has been given eight days to respond. The potential consequences are not yet clear, but they may include a transfer ban.
