Chelsea is in advanced discussions to hire Strasbourg coach Liam Rosenior as their new manager.
The club ended its relationship with Enzo Maresca on January 1st after a breakdown in communication with the club’s management. Chelsea aims to quickly find a replacement and sees Rosenior as the top candidate.
Rosenior currently manages Strasbourg, a team owned by BlueCo, which is positioned seventh in Ligue 1 this season and has secured European qualification for 2024/25.
The 41-year-old is well-regarded at Chelsea, and discussions with Strasbourg are reportedly progressing smoothly, according to Sky Germany.
The report indicates that Rosenior is expected to be appointed at Stamford Bridge unless something unexpected occurs, as negotiations are well underway.
He is under contract with Strasbourg until 2028, and a compensation package is yet to be finalized. Rosenior took over at Stade de la Meinau in 2024 after previously managing Hull City.
His playing career included time at Fulham, Reading, Hull, and Brighton.
