With the Premier League transfer window approaching, Chelsea is unlikely to remain quiet after the significant activity they have shown so far.

The summer of 2025 was unprecedented for Chelsea, as they saw major player changes while bringing in new talent and significantly altering their squad.

Key departures included Noni Madueke, Joao Felix, and Djordje Petrovic. Chelsea needs to free up additional space before adding new players.

Chelsea had high hopes for Jimi Tauriainen, viewing him as someone who could join the first team. The Finnish U21 international debuted against Tottenham in 2024, but his journey since has been challenging.

This season, he returned to the academy after recovering from an ACL injury. However, with his contract ending next summer, doubts about his future at the club remain.

Mail Online reports that he is likely to leave in January, with interest from clubs across Europe.

Teams in Belgium and the Netherlands are among those tracking him ahead of the transfer window.

Tauriainen has been with Chelsea since 2020 but has not had consistent first-team opportunities under Enzo Maresca.

Alejandro Garnacho move signalled the end of Jimi Tauriainen’s Chelsea career

Although discussions about Tauriainen’s departure are just starting, his position at Chelsea has been uncertain for some time.

He debuted wearing the number 49 shirt, but that number is no longer associated with him.

Alejandro Garnacho took over that shirt number after moving from Manchester United in the summer.

During Mauricio Pochettino’s time, Tauriainen had a better chance within the first team, but he has only played two minutes across two appearances for Chelsea.
