Chelsea is reportedly interested in Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae.

With injuries to Levi Colwill and Tosin Adarabioyo, Liam Rosenior aims to sign a centre-back this month. Chelsea has been trying to secure Rennes player Jeremy Jacquet, but they have not met the £55m+ asking price yet.

Min-jae has surfaced as an alternative, providing experience and possibly being more accessible.

This season, the 29-year-old has struggled for consistent playing time at Bayern Munich, starting only eight matches in the Bundesliga.

His position in the team has been affected by Jonathan Tah’s arrival from Bayer Leverkusen, and he is open to leaving to find more playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Chelsea is considering an offer if Min-jae is available at a reasonable price. He became the most expensive Asian footballer ever when he joined Bayern Munich for €50m in 2023 and secured the Bundesliga title last season.

Min-jae had previously won Serie A with Napoli in the 2022-23 season and received the Best Defender Award that year.
