Chelsea and England forward Cole Palmer will be out for the next three matches after breaking his toe, manager Enzo Maresca confirmed on Friday. The 23-year-old, who had just returned to training following a groin issue, sustained the new injury by hitting his foot on a door at home.
Due to this, he will miss the Premier League fixtures against Burnley and Arsenal. He will also be unavailable for the key Champions League match against Barcelona next week.
Maresca stated that while the injury is not serious, Palmer will not play in the games scheduled for the next week. The forward has been in good form, recently scoring two goals in the Club World Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain in July to lead Chelsea to victory.
