Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has shared the latest team news ahead of their FA Cup match against Wrexham this weekend.
The team will play at the Racecourse Ground with a kickoff time of 5.45pm on Saturday.
Rosenior will be missing six first-team players for this game. Levi Colwill is still recovering from a cruciate ligament injury, Dario Essugo has a muscle injury, and Wesley Fofana is dealing with a knock. Mykhailo Mudryk remains suspended due to an alleged doping violation.
There are positive updates on wingers Estevao Willian and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, though both will not return in time for the Wrexham match.
Estevao has been out for the last three matches due to a hamstring injury, while Bynoe-Gittens has not played since late January with a similar issue.
Chelsea team news and injury updates
“Estevao is back on the pitch, but he’s not ready for this one,” Rosenior said. “We need to be careful, considering his hamstring injury.
“He just needs to meet a few more recovery goals. Having him back will be a big boost for the team.
“Jamie Gittens is getting very close to returning, which is encouraging. He had a positive scan, and we hope he will rejoin the team within the next week.
Meanwhile, Romeo Lavia is slowly working his way back to fitness for his first start since November. He has come off the bench in Chelsea’s last two matches against Arsenal and Aston Villa.
“Romeo will definitely contribute, and he’ll be a key player for the rest of the season,” Rosenior added.
“We know what he can do. He’s eager to play, but we’re focusing on his gradual return. His opportunity is near, and he’ll be involved in the upcoming games.”
